FAQ
How many dogs are walked at once?
We walk no more than 6 dogs per person which is what our license and insurance covers us for. Groups are carefully selected with breed, age, sex, personality and playstyles in mind. This can be discussed with the owner beforehand, it may be necessary to try several groups for your dog before settling on one that they are most happy walking with.
How do we take payment?
An invoice will be sent out at the end of each month. Payment is expected within 7 days of the invoice being sent and is paid to us via bank transfer.
Are we insured?
Yes, we are fully insured. We are insured to walk up to 6 dogs per staff member.
Insured with Pet Plan, Policy No IS51569401
Boarding License: WK/000694195/2021
Do we let the dogs off lead?
Ideally, we prefer the dogs to be off lead but do understand that this isn’t always possible. We use long lines (up to 10 metres) to ensure your dog has the freedom to run & play in a controlled, safe way. We prefer our clients to have trackers on their dogs – to be charged up by you and accessible by us.
Do you offer your services on the weekends and bank holidays?
This may be offered for regular clients; however this may impact the price structure, please contact us to discuss further.
Do I need to be home when you pick up my dog or come to care for my pet?
Most of our clients are comfortable sharing a set of keys with us (our insurance covers this) to enable us to enter your home or collect and drop off your dog when you are not home. If you do not sign the key release on the contract, you need to have someone available to take the dog in on our return. If no one is home you will be charged for a second walk while we wait for you to come home
My dog has not been spayed or neutered, can he/she still be walked or cared for?
This can be discussed in the initial chat, each dog will be considered separately but we reserve the right to refuse any pet if they have not been neutered/spayed by 6-12 months (depending on vets advice Re: breed).
Do your services cater for all breeds?
We take each dog on its own merit and not on reputation of particular breeds. We meet all dogs and take them on a trial walk, each new pet is subject to a trial period while we assess their behaviour within our groups. Any instances of aggressive behaviour will be investigated, and we reserve the right to refuse to care for any dog.
Do you arrange picking up and dropping off for walking dogs?
We collect your dog from your home/place of work at an agreed time & then dropped back. You may need to fit into the schedule for collecting and dropping off dogs which means your dog will be out longer than 60 minutes, but they will always be exercised for the agreed period of time.
What happens in bad weather?
We get wet and muddy!! We will clean and dry your dog off as much as possible. We do ask that you leave out a towel. If there is a heatwave, we will either shorten walks, move them earlier to avoid the heat of the day, or cancel if it is too hot for the dogs. We have water and bowls for hot weather and blankets, towels for wet/cold weather. We have a MudDaddy (portable dog shower) in each van if your dog gets too muddy, we will try our best to shower off the worst of the dirt.
Can you administer my pet’s medication?
We are happy to administer medication for your pet(s), in accordance with your written instructions.
Does my dog have to be up to date with vaccinations?
Our insurance and boarding license states that we can only take on fully vaccinated dogs.
What do we do in case of emergency?
In the unlikely event of an emergency, we will immediately call and notify you. In our walking contract, we ensure that we have all the emergency contact details. If veterinary assistance is needed, we will take your pet to your named vet or, depending on the circumstances, to the nearest possible one.
What happens if my dog doesn’t get on with another dog?
We carefully select which dogs will walk together, if we find an imbalance within the group, we will try our absolute best to switch accordingly and inform you of the decision. We want your dog to enjoy their walk.
